The Secret - Planet Earth HD

You know THE SECRET? If you don't you have to spend some bucks on the book or the movie because you have to know the essence of the secret, which is not a secret at all but very helpful to bring you the sense and inspiration that will be rewarded by fulfillment.
So far so good. BUT: I have a sincere objection against the good feeling gift that comes with the secret: The wonderful Planet earth movie that's also released on Youtube. If you study my earlier blogs you will understand that pure beauty is only half the message about earth these days. Specially believers of the secret should become aware of the other half. Beyond climate change

Again a short film that points out with clear arguments that consumerism is leading us to disaster. This time it's an english version of a german movie. Well made, good arguments, etcetera. Does this help to achieve a wide spread change of attitude?

Much shorter but also very illustrative is the following movie about "350", which seems to be an important number.

It's the last thing you want to hear, but a necessity to be heard. Get real. Listen, look and shiver:

Nature and the decline of it as never seen before. Heartbreaking beautiful and sad at the same time ... Watch the trailer. Make time to see the movie on line. Than draw your conclusions and act accordingly.

Al Gore's movie "An inconvenient truth" (see trailer HERE) might cause more fear. "Home" hammers with the most beautiful pictures on the holistic nature of our habitat and tries at the end to turn pessimism into enthusiasm to do something substantial now.

About Green Business

Not such a usefull link ( About Green Business), but a statement by Paul Hawken to think about: "Business is the only mechnism on the planet today powerful enough to produce the changes necessary to reverse environmental and social degradation."

Sure ... Business has that power. Which leads to the real question: What will trigger (the huge global) corporations to use this power to reverse global degradation? What's their interest (as a business) other than not to provocate opinionleaders?

Sure ... some CEO's are environmentalists. But what's their manouvring space with short term focussed greedy shareholders breathing in their necks?

Ecology links

The weblog Triple Pundit pretends: "Serving people, planet and profit: An 'integrated bottom-line' approach to looking at business from the next generation of MBAs". And indeed they do by gathering a lot of informative links to all aspects of green innovation, sustainability and so on. Saves a lot of googling time.

The engagement of the "next generation" shocked my believe that in relation to environmental issues MBA's should be mistrusted. But it was also my idea that in the near future it would be impossible to get sustainability issues high ranking on the political agenda. There are signals that might prove that I was wrong.

Is a new generation with substantially more notice of the constraint called planet taking over?
