Futurist Richard Watson has come up with a timeline for when certain technologies, companies and customs (like spelling!) will become extinct. Some things that will become insignificant are a real pity, it will hurt. On other issues one might comment that earlier extinction is wishful. Watson notes that his estimates are mostly just for fun — not to be taken too seriously. That is in line with the idea that "Those who know don't predict; those who predict have no knowledge."
